I used to believe that everybody is kind. As in, no one is truly bad or evil. I thought that somehow, by the end of the day, people will lie down on their beds and reflect upon themselves because they have their conscience. There is still something good in a person no matter how many bad things the person has done.

But now, i dont think so anymore. I don't know what to believe anymore ...

I realised some people just dont have conscience AT ALL. They think that they are right all the time. They are manipulative. They hurt people's feelings intentionally because they just want to bring them down and make them feel worse than they already did. They don't care about others' emotions and feelings. They are selfish and its as if the whole world only revolves around them. They place their happiness on top of everything else and in the expense of others. And everywhere i go, i see fake smiles. Fake faces.

You know what? I'm so sick of them now.

I want to believe in what i used to believe. Because i'd like to think that the world, despite all the unhappy things, is still a wonderful place to live in.

This just proves how wrong and how naive i am.

They can say
Anything they want to say
Try to bring me down
But I will not allow anyone to succeed hanging clouds over me
And they can try hard to make me feel that I
Don't matter at all
But I refuse to falter in what I believe or loose faith in my dreams

'Cause there's
There's a light in me
That shines brightly
They can try
But they can't take that away from me

Oh they
They can do
Anything they want to you
If you let them in
But they won't ever win
If you cling to you pride and just push them aside,
See I
I have learned
There's an inner peace I own
Something in my soul that they can not possess
So I won't be afraid and the darkness will fade

'Cause there's
There's light in me me
That shines brightly, yes
They can try
But they can't take that away from me

No, oh oh
They can't take this
Precious love I'll always have inside me
Certainly the Lord will guide me where I need to go

They can say
Anything they want to say
Try to bring me down
But I won't face the ground
I will rise steadily sailing out of their reach
Although they do try
Hard to make me feel that I
Don't matter at all
But I refuse to fall
Tell me what I believe or loose faith in my dreams
'Cause there's a light in me
That shines brightly yes

They can try but they can't take that away from
Me

PS: I miss you Boo Boo! :(

Chap Goh Meh is tomorrow! Which will mark the end of Chinese New Year ... :(
Thinking back the CNY celebration we had makes me feel nostalgic!

Anyway, this post is going to be about Bath and Bristol. We had to wake up super early because the bus would leave at 7.30am. However, i slept thru the alarm which was set at 5 (i need an hour to get ready!) and woke up at 6. How smart. Nevertheless i managed to get ready in *ahem* 30 minutes and rushed to Kim's room to pack my stuff.

We (Me, Hann, Kim, Nicholas and Hehn) reached Bristol first. Its a totally different city than London. Less hectic, less cars, less bustle, fresher air etc. We were like tourists - wait, we actually are! ;P - taking pics along the way to the train station. Hence, the delay in reaching Bath.

Bath is a very beautiful and peaceful place. Love it! It felt good to relax and forget about all the stressful things in London. We met Boo and Caleb there and proceeded to a Chinese restaurant for buffet. The food was good! Yum yummm ... though i was quite full after that. We then went to the Roman Bath. Haha its a typical tourist attraction which is about rocks and the Romans. Boo, Kim and I did not have much interest so we 'walked horse saw flower' and took lots of pictures together ;)

Later we went to Boo's uni which is the University of Bath. I tell you, i sure am missing out A LOT on campus life by going to LSE which, pathetically, is made up of a few buildings without a proper gym (not that i need it anyway, but still!), gardens (grass especially) and importantly, buildings of each faculty. Like, Department of Accounting is only on a floor in the Old Building. Not only that, University of Bath has SUPERB sports facilities. No wonder its ranked no.2 for sports in the whole UK. I'll let the pictures do the talking later ;P

The next day we went to the Royal Crescent in Bath before going back to Bristol. We went to the Cliffton Suspension Bridge which is so gorgeous! The view from the hill was spectacular! Hahaha then there was a slide on the slope of the hill which most of us tried.

And OMG, this is interesting! Look what i've found from Wikipedia:

"The Clifton Suspension Bridge is well known as a suicide bridge.

Between 1974 and 1993, 127 people fell to their deaths from the bridge. In 1998 barriers were installed on the bridge to prevent people jumping. In the 4 years after installation this reduced the suicide rate from 8 deaths per year to 4. The bridge is fitted with plaques that advertise the number of The Samaritans.

In 1885, a 22 year old woman named Sarah Ann Henley survived a fall from the bridge when her billowing skirts acted as a parachute, and subsequently lived into her eighties."

No wonder we saw signs that said, "Need someone to talk to? Call XXXXXXXX!"

Oh and by the way, highlight of the trip: i walked straight into a pole in the bus! And yes, needless to remind me, i'm turning 20 this year. ARGH speaking of which, i feel so old now!

Some pics to share :) - sorry about the sequence of the photos though, they are all messed up!

This is inside the sports centre building in the University of Bath!

This reminds me of Hari Sukan in primary school! Hehe ...

They have a hugeee swimming pool which is so cool!

The Royal Crescent!

This is in Bristol. On our way towards the bridge.

The suspension bridge!

On the bridge

Hahaha me and my bestie! :D

I am so PISSED.

Kim and I know that somebody is always using our pots, pans, plates or whatsoever without our permission. We always find them missing in our part of the cupboard.

Today, eventually, we found the culprit.

He is none other than the big, fat, stupid, four-eyed Indian guy living a few doors away.

I AM SO AMAZED AT HOW THICK-FACED A PERSON CAN BE!

When we walked into the kitchen, he was using OUR PAN to fry his stupid beef. We opened the cupboard a few times to 'search' for our pan still he didn't say anything. Fine. So we sat next to where he was frying his stupid beef and waited. I intentionally said something like, "No pan lar how to cook?" Still, no response. So we waited while eating our 'cooked chicken ham' which was expired two weeks ago ><

When Mr. Oh-So-Oblivious finally finished cooking his stupid beef, he washed the pan.

BUT HE DIDN'T WASH IT PROPERLY!

Omygosh. I really dont understand these people. The least you can do when you use people's stuff without permission is to clean it properly and place it back into the cupboard!

WHAT THE FOOD MAN!

If you don't buy your own cooking tools and cutlery you might as well dont eat!

GGGRRRRRRRRRRRRR !!!

Heal my heart and make it clean
Open up my eyes to the things unseen
Show me how to love like you have loved me

Break my heart from what breaks yours
Everything I am for your kingdoms cause
As I go from nothing to
Eternity

What an eventful day!

As usual, went to church in the morning. After church, there was lunch which was UBER GOOD. Hehehe maybe we were too hungry after squeezing ourselves into Chinatown and waiting outside the restaurant for 15 minutes. It was pricey, as expected but it was soooooo goooood none of us complained. And five of us (me, Kim, Hel, Jun Hann and Jonson) consumed FIVE big bowls of rice! - the lady had to refill our bowl of rice for FOUR times haha! We had roast duck, as usual, siu yuk, ma lai chao with belacan, bak kut teh and some taofu with gong yu chi. Ahhh ~ what a contenting meal! :)

This year is also the first time i'm spending Chinese New Year without my family :( CNY in London is so packed with people, all kinds of people! There was some event going on in Trafalgar Square today with loads of performances during the whole afternoon. Then there were Chinese food, Chinese costumes (even on Ang Mohs!), Chinese decorations and Chinese toys everywhere. It just seems like the whole London, well the area where im living in right now, is suddenly orientalised!

Later, me, Hel and Kim went for a jog walk to Tower Bridge. Haha we've been in London for 5 months but we haven't visited there yet!

The overrated London Eye

Kim and Hel's 'Bollywood' style! Hahaha!

"I'm on top of the world!"

Finally, Tower Bridge.

After that, we walked back to our hall. We decided to watch Mean Girls as we were all suffering from Sunday/Monday blues. We reached our hall, walked into the lift, pressed the button '3' and waited for it to close. It closed. BUT IT DIDNT MOVE. The three of us along with two other girls started to panic so we immediately pressed the emergency alarm but nobody came! Well, actually there was a security guard at the reception BUT HE FREAKING WENT DOWN TO WHO-KNOWS-WHERE. We eventually had to pry open the door ourselves and thank God we managed to do that! Even though the gap was small but at least there was still a gap. And we were stuck in the stupid lift for AN HOUR despite reasurrance from the subwarden that the engineer will arrive in 20 or 30 minutes.

Unhappy + miserable people who were forced to stay inside the lift

Please don't cry Kim!

So we text messaged, played games, played music, whined, complained, attempted to force open the door for several times and talked to people outside the elevator for that whole hour. Oh, and we camwhored. Then, when the engineer finally came, he closed the door for 15 to 20 minutes and told us he was going upstairs. Before we knew it, the lift suddenly started travelling upwards and halted in between floors all of a sudden. After that it began travelling downwards and then it went upwards again and stopped. The next thing we knew, the door was open! I tell you, all of us were practically running towards the exit with a huge sigh of relief! What an experience!

And ... the whole time we were stuck in the stupid elevator the security guard didn't even come to check on us! I really, really dislike him now! Will lodge a complain tomorrow! Grrrr ...

There was once i forgot to bring my card out so i went down to the reception and asked him for a temporary card.

Me: Hi, I forgot to bring my card out. Can i have a temporary card or something?

Him: Are you willing to pay for it?

Me: How much is it?

Him: Alf a pound.

Me: Huh? Sorry?

Him: ALF a pound.

Me: Hmmm *trying to digest what he just said and finally getting it* okay then.

Him: Do you know how much is that? (without waiting for my answer) 50 pence.

SEEE ???!!! He is so FREAKING RUDE. What the heck? I am so going to lodge a complain about him tomorrow i dont care!

Haha and i just realised i've written a long long post. And i still have Maths to finish!

Nights people!
